Bringing together the brightest minds in education to exchange ideas, create connections, and drive change.
Education International, MGEN, and the MGEN Foundation for Public Health are set to unveil the findings of the third edition of the International Barometer of the Health and Well-Being of Education Staff (I-BEST), supported by 33 education unions and organizations from around the world. The latest edition offers valuable insights into the health and well-being of education professionals, highlighting key challenges and priorities facing the education workforce globally.
Why This Survey Matters
From early childhood through secondary education, I-BEST stands apart as the only international survey that examines the experiences of the entire education workforce, not just teachers. It provides a broader understanding of the health, well-being, working conditions, and everyday experiences of the people who keep schools and education systems moving forward. By bringing together perspectives from diverse education systems, professional roles, and national contexts, I-BEST offers a valuable global view of the challenges and realities facing education workers today.
The third edition of I-BEST brings together voices from education workers across Argentina, Belgium, Cameroon, Canada, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, France, The Gambia, Mexico, Morocco, Paraguay, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Zimbabwe. Their participation provides a rich and diverse perspective on the realities of education professionals around the world.
What Is New in 2026
This year’s edition introduces an important new dimension to the I-BEST initiative. For the first time, the quantitative findings produced by the MGEN Foundation for Public Health will be complemented by a qualitative analysis conducted in partnership with Education Support. This approach adds greater depth and context to the findings, giving education workers a stronger voice and helping bring the numbers to life through real-world experiences and perspectives.
